Hernan Posada runs our practice sessions on Friday night which focuses on practical defense handgun skills taken from IDPA and various Gunsite training courses. Hernan has had extensive training at Gunsite, expert level and other practical training. You can contact Hernan or just show up on Friday night.

Below is a list of our safety requirements and skill we train on through-out the year.

We will most likely be indoors for the rest of the winter.

IDPA Practice
Practice rules and set-up considerations:
1. Firearms are to be considered loaded at all times.
2. Do not point a gun at anything you do not intend to shoot.
3. Keep finger out of the trigger guard unless you are ready to fire.
4. Be aware of your target and what is beyond it.
*Range is run hot… never handle gun unless at ready on firing line…
*Admin. Re-load is ok
*Wear eye and ear protection
*Keep gun pointed at back stop at all times…
*Keep shot in lower half of back stop and between barber poles
*Steel targets must be 10 yards or 30 feet away to be shot
*Be careful of concrete footer, could cause bullet to ricochet
*Keep finger off the trigger while moving unless engaging target…
*Anyone can and should call a stop to action if they see what they think is an unsafe act or condition. Person shooting should stop, hold position, remove finger from trigger and wait for further instruction.
*Always be conscious of the muzzle direction and location of your body.
*Reholstering the firearm should require only one hand to avoid sweeping (pointing the muzzle) at your own hand.
*We all want to remain as safe and have a great time, this is fun if it wasn't fun nobody would do it. Nobody has fun if someone get hurt.
